Mission
The Mission of the 36th District Court Docket Management Department is to diligently work towards streamlining the Court’s operations, increase efficiency, through fair and timely case processing and resolution.
Purpose
Docket Management exists in order to develop consistent procedures designed to:
- Prevent unnecessary delays in the caseflow of all cases processed through the 36th District Court
- Improve public service and confidence
- Establish reasonable timeframes for meaningful case events
- Increase staff confidence, accountability and responsibility
- Provide continuous monitoring of the movement of cases from initiation through disposition
The Docket Management Department is in constant pursuit to establish practices that include:
- Case disposition within the Supreme Court time standards (Supreme Court AO 2013-12)
- Early court intervention and continuous court control of case progress
- Meaningful pretrial events and schedules
- Limiting of continuances/adjournments
- Effective scheduling and docketing practices
- Use of Information Systems to monitor case age and status
