Chief Judge William C. McConico presides over the Court and oversees 28 judges and 6 magistrates. Court Administrator LaWanda Crosby provides daily oversight for the non-judicial functions of the Court and approximately 300 staff.

The 36th District Court is the largest district court in the state of Michigan and one of the busiest courts in the United States. More people have contact with the district court than any other court. For this reason, it is often referred
to as the "People's Court".
Attention Attorneys, Creditors and those seeking garnishments at 36th District Court:
The GarnIT application is available at the 36th District Court. This application allows attorneys and creditors to submit income tax garnishment writ requests to the court via the GarnIT website, or an internet-connected mobile device.
You can use GarnIT to input up to 10 writ requests at once, or as a bulk filer with up to 500 writs per file. Bulk filers will need to prepare their data based on special format instructions, which can be found on the GarnITapplication.
